8th grade Expeirence
In 8th grade science I learned a lot from having a great and exciting teacher. I learned about space and solar power and I made little cartoons and comics. In the beginning of the year I wasn't happy to hear that I would have the same teacher from 6th grade. I admit I thought it would be another long tiring year and with no fun. I was wrong we all had a lot of fun because she put a lot more technology into it and we were all excited to see what Mrs. Casey knew about technology.
The reason I thought the class would be boring was because I struggled in that class. I thought it would be boring and a long and tiring year. As I said I was wrong. I feel a lot smarter and a lot better that I did then.
One thing I learned was arrow dynamics for how space and how earth works and more. It was a lot of fun we learned how airplanes were made to fit for flight. It was a lot of fun also when we played with water and see what happens to water in the dark and in the light and also when you mix it with chemicals and many other things at the same time. It was fun to see all if the water would dissolve other things at the same time and amount as it was in the light. It was a lot of fun.
She was great and helped me to learn a lot more. But what I liked best was the little comic we did on the internet. I had a lot of fun with it. It made me laugh. I made many other things on my blog that I made for her class. It was a blast.
Thank you Mrs. Casey for everything that you taught me and helping me in science. I learned a lot in this class and I will never forget how 8th grade was. Its now summer have a great time everyone and see you guys later. Oscar

Colorado Springs water comes from the far west. The water they get travels 200 miles just to get to Colorado Springs. The water is cleaned after time and time for everyone to be able to drink it. The water is very dirty. The water they drink comes from the sewer but also comes from the tap or were they usually get there water. All in all the water is clean and drinkable and just fine after it gets cleaned over and over. 75 % of water comes from over the divide to be drunk from Colorado springs.
Manitou springs has its own source. It runs differently compared to Colorado Springs. It runs of the sewer system of its own. At the same time it runs of Colorado Springs water gust to get the water the people drink. They get the same water Colorado Springs gets like the 75% of water Colorado Springs gets.

Water Activity
- What is the water cycle? The water cycle is a never ending cycle in which the water will go through and never end.
- Does the water cycle have a beginning or end? No because it is a circle. A circle has no beginning or end like other shapes. It goes through 5 fazes. Those are evaporation, condensation, precipitation, runoff, and groundwater and then it starts all over again.
- Starting with a puddle on a sunny day, describe how water might move through the water cycle and eventually fall back as rain. It will start to evaporate and the clouds form which is condensation finally it will rain which is precipitation.

Solar Power
Oscar's Questions to answer!!
1) What, specifically about your topic, are you going to research?
I am going to research on how solar power is better than electricity.
2) What conclusions did you come to? What do you recommend average citizens do to make a difference? Be specific. This is the main part of your assignment.
It can conserve the energy on earth and use the sun for energy instead of electricity. Less energy is used on earth and more use of the sun.
3) What would happen if, worst-case scenario, nobody listened to your recommendations?
It would use more electricity on the world instead of using the sun. Electricity would get more expensive if the world is running out. Which it wont for a very long time.
4) What would happen if, best-case scenario, everybody listened to your recommendations?
More energy from the sun and the earth would use less power from the world. Also it can conserve more energy and the world can last twice as long.

Water and its Properties
1a) What atoms make up a water molecule?
Water is made of 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom. This is H2O.
1b) Describe the electric charge on each end of a water molecule?
The Hydrogen atom is+ and oxygen is -. They attract to each other because they are different charges.
1c) What causes water molecules to be attracted to one another?
An electric force pulls to each other and make the molecules attracted to one another. They are polar molecules.
2a) Name four unusual properties that water exhibits.
Those 4 are capillary action, surface tension, universal solvent, and specific heat.
2b) Briefly explain why water exhibits each property.
Each water exhibit is there to help explain or show what the water molecules and water can do.
2c)Oil is a nonpolar molecule. Would it dissolve in water? Why or why not?
No, because it was not polar molecule. Nonpolar don't dissolve well in water because they cant dissolve as well as polar molecules.
3a) What are the three states in which water exist on earth?
The three stages of which water is on earth is solid, liquid, and gas.
3b) Describe how water changes state as a patch of ice is heated by the sun?
It changes through boiling and evaporation, condensation also freezing and melting.

Hawaii Waves

1) The name and location is Hawaii in the United States of America. Name of Project is Hawaii
2) Hi my name is Mr. Brown and I am a biologist. I study the earth and its powerful nature that controls what happens on earth. The place I am going is Hawaii to study the waves and how and what it will do. The one reason I would go there is because I am learning about the natural forces of earth in the water. Also to see what the oceans water can do if something really bad happens. In the pacific ocean around Hawaii the waves are a lot bigger and a lot more powerful. The waves in the area push the water to a point that the water can become huge. I believe that the water helps push water past the islands so that it can reach to Japan and then it will come back. The water is very powerful so that the water can be surfed on and that is the attraction that people like as well as how beautiful the place in. That is what the role of the water is as it goes in the pacific.
3)It is a very peaceful place the sounds of the animals and plants and ocean make it sound really nice.
4) This reveals that Earths water can be very powerful and dangerous but fun at the same time. Especially when there are powerful and large waves that can help with surfing.
5) Humans need water as a resource to help with everyday life. Also its used in a lot of foods that we eat. We can have fun with it too.

EarthQuakes webquest
1.Where do most of the earthquakes tend to happen? It is mainly on the pacific plate boundary. Generally most of the earthquakes are found on the edge on the plate boundary and generally on the pacific plate.
2. Why do you think that is? The reason I believe this is because most of them take with in the pacific area on the land but also in the water.

What is this area called? The Ring of Fire
Where is the earthquake closest to Manitou Springs? What are the details of this earthquake? Would people be able to feel this earthquake? About how much more ground shaking would occur for this magnitude earthquake compared to a magnitude 1 earthquake? By Fort Collins The details are the earthquake was 101 miles from For Collins and it is really a tiny one. No one felt it and it was a 3.2 earth quake. It would have to be a 4 or more because no one could fell it.
